Meet Payday. If you haven’t yet seen her all over your FYP (for you page), she’s the 17 year old rapper taking alt-TikTok and gen-z audiences by storm.

Not only does the Cali-born and based artist, rapper and songwriter offer insanely entertaining and fun content online, but she’s also recently released her four track long EP 'P.U.K.E TAPES VOLUME 3' via Future Classic.

Having collected over 7 million career streams, over 90K TikTok followers and showered in praise from the likes of FADER and Lyrical Lemonade, her new EP is crazy, in-your-face and quick witted and picks up where her recent singles Dolphin and Big Boy left off.

We had a fun time with a rapid fire Q and A and chatted all things, music, TikTok and finding your way in the industry - enjoy!

You're 17! How are you already so talented and accomplished at such a young age ?
It don’t even feel like that, but I’m not stopping till it does. I accept the compliments though, very nice!

What drew you towards rapping and creating music?
Saw other kids my age were doing it and even without a single musical bone in my body decided to try it out! fell in love with it and it eventually it became a great escape for me.

Your music videos are totally chaotic in the best way, where do you find the inspiration for them?
Haha thanks! I think about things I’ve always wanted to do and how to make those things relevant to the songs. Like riding a jet ski for Dolphin or utilizing stop motion for Guts.

Tell me about your journey on TikTok and what you like/dislike about the platform.
TikTok is sick because of all the opportunities and exposure artists can get from it but it also sucks ass sometimes because the community is so sensitive to every little thing.

What's your proudest moment in your music career so far? What's your big goal?
My proudest moment so far is just people believing in me. any moment where i can tell someone truly believes in me is a proud one. My big goal is to not be forgotten, make real big impacts on people’s lives.

Tell me about some new tunes that are either just out or set to come out soon.
There’s Dolphin and Big Boy already out and I’ve got some pretty cool remixes on the way.
