REPLICA: Episode Two

By Christina Karras and Ruby Staley

“REPLICA” is a project for A-ZINE, where we explore fashion; its influence and counterfeit culture

In a world oversaturated with content coming at us from all angles, all the time, it feels difficult to make educated decisions as a consumer. “REPLICA” seeks to investigate our current culture and fashion, with note of trends, brand narratives and buyer attitudes. Follow the series over the next few weeks as we tell stories from the industry.

In our second instalment we discuss the role of small businesses and ethical production in the current fast fashion climate. We spoke to Egyptian designer, Dana Frid, and Melbourne-based entrepreneur, Erika Geraertes, to find out what it’s like to be independant in a world ruled by huge, money hungry corporations.
