Get That Good, Good Holiday Glow

With Skinceuticals.

After a period of dealing with severe acne and compromised facial texture last year, I feel like I’ve only just nailed my holy grail skin care routine.

Front and centre of the regime is Skinceuticals’ god-tier Silymarin CF which I apply every morning religiously as my daily dose of Vitamin C. Among a handful of other great products and a round of trusty antibiotics, this antioxidant formula makes my skin sing with joy.

Taking the brand six years to perfect the formulation, Silymarin CF was made specifically to target oily and blemish-prone skin without breaking said skin out which is what a tonne of Vitamin C serums tend to do.

According to leading cosmetic and laser dermatologist, Dr Shobhan Manoharan, this is because Silymarin CF is an oil free formula that specifically targets oil oxidation.

“By targeting oil oxidation, Silymarin CF is like no other product that currently exists in the market and responds to a need that will be welcomed by many,” Dr. Manoharan said.

“Silymarin CF contains a comprehensive formula that has been scientifically proven to prevent free radical damage caused by oil oxidation, so the vitamin C antioxidant serum not only reduces oiliness and blemishes, it also minimises visible signs of ageing.”

At the risk of veering too far into science territory, basically, Skinceuticals research found that blemish prone skin tends to have a lower level of antioxidants so is more vulnerable to oxidative damage, which is only further exacerbated by UV and pollutants.

“We’re bringing the oxidative theory of blemish formation to light - the idea that oxidation can also lead to breakouts, specifically from oxidation of sebum,” said Leslie Harris, Global General Manager of SkinCeuticals.

“We have been able to develop a synergistic vitamin C antioxidant formula for those with oily or blemish-prone skin so they can confidently incorporate a vitamin C into their skincare regimen.”

If it wasn’t already abundantly clear, I’m a big fan of Skinceuticals. So when they asked if I wanted to visit their new Antioxidant Skin Lab pop-up right in the heart of Chadstone for a treatment, my dull skin rejoiced.

Located in front of David Jones in the centre for the rest of the month, the store offers not only Skinceutical’s core range to purchase for either yourself or gifts, but also an interactive and educational experience.

From start to finish, the experience is warm, immersive and sensory with specialised tests to identify the free radical damage on your skin and demonstrations on how the brand’s formula’s each work to neutralise this damage.

Next up at The Skin Lab, visitors are treated to a facial treatment for a variety of skin concerns, from Clarity and Pigmentation to Glow. Combining the power of their antioxidant formulations and a soft LED light therapy, you’ll be leaving the session glowing for the gods – well, I did anyway.

For Melbourne shoppers, holiday proof your skin with Skinceuticals at Chadstone – whether that’s with a treatment or one of the many skin specific bundles they have in stock.
